CV Experts Get The Best Jobs Post Graduation
by Glenn Hughes
Experts get paid the most money. It doesnt matter whether its the expert who gets called in to do the TV interview or the consultant ophthalmic surgeon. The thing that they have in common is that people see them as the expert in their chosen field. It is no different when considering your CV- those who have expert input into their CV get the best shot at interviews
How do you become a CV expert? The same way as you become an expert in anything- you need to study hard those people who are successful in the field that you choose to be an expert in. The good news is that there is plenty of help available to you to become an expert
A CV is a selling document " you are selling yourself to an employer. Start the process of preparing your CV by listing all of your achievements. Think of everything that you have ever done for anyone else. Achievements can be sporting (medals, awards, championships), academic (grades, qualifications, levels), professional or vocational, employment, hobby, personal, and also encompass many other fields
Having a family member or friend to write your CV can seem to be an attractive option. Whilst this can work, it seldom gets you the most money or the best job possible. The simple reason is that they arent experts in the field. You need to give yourself the very best possible chance at getting the interview that you want. Either study the subject yourself and become an expert or employ a professional CV writer
How do you decide who is an expert? Track record is what separates the experts from the others in any field. Find out what they have done; check out the customers that they have worked with. Look for genuine testimonials on their website. Genuine testimonials will stand up to scrutiny. It is a sad fact that some companies will make up testimonials- these will stand out like the proverbial sore thumb- use your common sense- check companies out thoroughly before you use them
The internet can help you decide which, if any company that you want to use. If I were you though, I would telephone to make sure that someone is actually there to receive and deal with your request for information. You can become a CV expert yourself, but be warned, it will take a lot of time and effort on your part- time that could be better spent preparing for the interview itself? In the end its your choice- I know what I would do
